Staying Rooted in an Uprooted World

In these economic times, those who were impervious to the hardships of war, political upheaval, discrimination -- be it ethnic, religious, elder abuse, gender bias -- or suffered persecution, have now joined the ranks of the suffering as a result of the economic downturn and the poverty that has ensued. As well, natural disasters and ecological destruction are impacting all of us. When we are out of balance in this way, we are vulnerable to further exploitation.Papi (not his real name), at…See More

That tends to come from having trouble thinking "outside the box". Our minds categorize our experiences into compartments to make efficient judgements and decisions. That is OK when we are deciding when to cross the road but it is not so "OK" when dealing with the complexity of human relationships. One way of stretching our perceptions - and then our attitudes -…See More

Choices and limitations

Are you a free agent to make choices? Certainly, for many things you are.

Often we don' t make choices that are available to us because we don't know what the options are. That is why going for expert advice is helpful. I have business and legal advice just an email or phone call away. Admittedly, I don't use it as much as I could or should even though the reasonable price won't go up however much I use it.
